Gaining insight into the power of an benefits package
Albron provides daily food and beverage services to businesses, educational institutions, healthcare organizations, and recreational venues across the Netherlands. With over 4,000 employees and hundreds of locations, the organization ranks among the largest foodservice companies in the Netherlands.
Due to the various collective labor agreements and benefits schemes within the organization, Albron wanted to gain insight into the distinctive value of its existing package. In addition, the desire arose to better structure and more effectively communicate benefits.

We found the clear and professional structure of the quick scan to be a very positive experience. Paul took a concrete approach and adhered fully to the agreed timeline. The full range of benefits, both from the collective labour agreement and internal policies, has been mapped out clearly, providing the right insights into potentially desirable new benefits. Based on this mapping of the various conditions, concrete additional options were recommended. We will certainly be continuing our collaboration with and taking further advice from Not Secondary.
Challenge:Albron wanted to explore whether their current benefits package offers sufficient differentiation compared to other employers.
In addition, employees within Albron work under various collective labour agreements (CAOs). This creates challenges in the areas of Communication, consistency and future Optimisation of benefits.
The organisation therefore sought an independent party with specialist knowledge of secondary benefits to analyse the complete package and identify opportunities for improvement.
Approach & advice:For Albron, we carried out a Benefits Scan.
As part of this Benefits Scan, all benefits from the various CAOs and additional company schemes were inventoried and mapped. We then assessed these against our Benefits Scan model and benchmarked them against market developments.
In doing so, we examined:
- the differentiating power of the current package;
- alignment with market developments;
- opportunities for new benefits;
- Optimisation of existing schemes;
- possibilities to better communicate benefits;
- challenges arising from working with multiple CAOs.
The findings were then translated into concrete recommendations that enable Albron to make informed decisions about the future of their benefits policy.
Result:The Benefits Scan has given Albron a clear and independent view of the strengths, areas for attention and development opportunities within the current benefits package.
In addition to insights into the market position of the package, various new benefits and Optimisation opportunities were identified. Concrete recommendations were also made to improve Communication around benefits and to better manage the challenges that arise from working with multiple CAOs.
As a result, Albron now has a solid foundation for future decision-making in the areas of benefits, Communication and employer branding.
