Not Secondary Benefits Statement
Give your benefits the stage they deserve
Employers invest heavily in benefits, but employees and candidates often have no idea what is actually on offer.
With the Not Secondary Benefits Statement we bring your benefits together in one visual, understandable and appealing story. For current employees and for candidates who want to know what you have to offer as an employer.

The question
Good benefits are worth little if nobody knows about them
Benefits are often scattered across staff handbooks, the intranet, separate schemes and other documents. As a result, employees do not always know what is available or what certain schemes mean for them.
Towards candidates, too, a lot of value goes unused. Vacancies and interviews usually mention only a small part of the package, while the package as a whole can weigh on the choice for an employer.
With a Benefits Statement we make visible what you offer and why it is attractive – for current and future employees alike.
When is a Benefits Statement right for you?
Time to make your benefits more visible?
Information is fragmented
Benefits are spread across different documents and systems.
Employees do not know the package well enough
A lot is on offer, but far from everyone knows what is available.
The staff handbook is too extensive
All the information is there, but employees have to search for what is relevant to them.
Candidates only see part of it
You offer more than becomes visible during recruitment and the application process.
The communication does not fit the organisation
The current documents are factually correct, but their look and feel do not match your employer brand.
Not sure where to start?
In a short call we look at which approach fits your organisation.

Our approach
From benefits to a recognisable story
- 01
Inventory
We gather the relevant documentation and map the benefits that should appear in the Benefits Statement.
- 02
Structure & story
We decide how to present the package logically and recognisably. Where fitting we link benefits to your core values, themes or other recognisable elements of the organisation.
- 03
Copy & clarity
We translate existing schemes into short, understandable texts without losing the essence of the benefit.
- 04
Visual design
We develop the Benefits Statement fully in your brand style and make sure the presentation is attractive and clear.
- 05
Feedback & delivery
Together we go through the draft, process the feedback and work towards the final version.

Process & timeline
From documents to a final Benefits Statement
Beforehand we decide together which benefits are included, which audiences the Benefits Statement is for and which communication style fits your organisation. We then get to work on content, structure and design and work towards the final version through one or more feedback rounds.
The exact timeline also depends on the number of benefits, the documentation available and how quickly input and feedback are supplied.
Do you have a specific deadline? Then we agree up front on what is feasible.
Frequently asked questions about Not Secondary Benefits Statement
No. A staff handbook often contains extensive information, rules and procedures. A Benefits Statement is meant to present benefits accessibly, attractively and clearly. It therefore does not automatically replace the underlying schemes or formal documentation.
We decide that together. As a basis we map the relevant employee benefits and determine which information employees and/or candidates need to understand the package properly.
No. We can gather existing information from different documents and translate it into understandable texts for the Benefits Statement. We do of course need enough substantive information to describe the schemes correctly.
Yes. The Benefits Statement is developed to measure and matches your brand style and employer brand visually, so it feels like communication from your own organisation.
Certainly. During the application process in particular, a Benefits Statement can add a lot of value. Candidates often see only a limited part of the benefits, while the package as a whole can play an important role in their choice of employer.
The Benefits Statement can therefore be used at different points in the candidate journey, for example during an interview, with the offer or during onboarding. Depending on your needs we can also develop a more compact version specifically for candidates.
Yes. Because we go through the entire package, things regularly stand out to us and we share our observations and ideas where relevant. A full analysis or optimisation of the package is not a standard part of a Benefits Statement, though. Our optimisation services are meant for that.
Yes. Benefits change, and so the Benefits Statement can be updated periodically. We can agree on how future changes are processed.
We always deliver both the master file in .ai and the actual document in .pdf. That also makes it possible for you to maintain changes yourself after the project.
